How to create and manage Sprints within a Program Increment

How to add a Sprint

To add a sprint to the program increment, the program increment needs to be started. Each increment can define one or more sprints. Sprints have dedicated Start date and End date.

Step 1: To add a sprint to the Program Increment, Click on the sandwich menu as shown below in the screenshot, and choose ‘Add Sprint’

Step 2: This will add a sprint to the Program Increment 

How to start a Sprint

To start a sprint, in the Program increment follow the steps below:

Step 1: Choose the Program Increment for which sprint needs to be started.

Step 2: Click on the sandwich menu button which is placed at the right end of the sprint

Step 3: Choose the option ‘Start Sprint” to start the sprint

How to close a Sprint

In order to close the sprint, the sprint should be in-progress

Step 1: Choose the Program Increment for which the sprint needs to be closed.

Step 2: Click on the sandwich menu button which is placed at the right end of the sprint

Step 3: Choose the option ‘Close’ to close the sprint

How to access a Sprint Journey

A sprint journey can be accessed once the sprint is closed. To view the sprint journey, follow the following steps:

Step 1: Choose the Program increment. A list of sprints for the Program increment can be viewed.

Step 2: Click on the sprint for which the sprint journey needs to be accessed.

Step 3: Choose the option “sprint journey” from the menu

Step 4: A window will appear as below with start and end dates

How to access a Sprint Summary  

Step 1: To access the sprint summary, click on the sprint for which the summary needs to be accessed.

Step 2: Choose the option “sprint summary” from the menu

Step 3: A window will appear with the summary of the sprint as below
