- Click on the drop down option against the ‘Work Items’ filter.
- Select the team/team’s whose progress you want to view and then apply the filter.
- Sprint selection can be made in the top most right hand corner drop down box.
ARCHITECTURE & PROCESS DIAGRAMMING
Collaborative Architecture Diagramming:
Prakya’s platform includes the ability to plan, design and draw out product/system architecture. The ability to connect a diagram to; a Portfolio (product or business line); an Epic (Project); a Feature; or a Process truly eliminates the inefficiencies of multiple versions of Diagrams, outdated Architecture or inconsistent Diagram user-access.
- To view your product’s all-encompassing architecture diagram, select ‘Epics’ from the left menu.
- Select ‘3ee6ty View’. Each box/component represents a different area of work, which together comprises your entire product/process.
- By hovering over any box, you can drill down by selecting the ‘blue arrow’ that appears to the right of the box in question.
- Generally, each box at the top of a Diagram represents an Epic or a Project. As you drill further down, you will be able to access specific Features/work items that comprise a given Epic or Project.
Connecting Epics/Projects to Drawings:
Each Epic/Project inside the Prakya system is a defined set of related work. As your team(s) will generally be working on multiple Epics/Projects concurrently, it is important that each project team fully understands how their work items/tasks (Features and User Stories) roll up to a Project’s objective(s).
- To connect a specific Architecture Diagram to an Epic/Project, please first go to the Architecture Diagram in question.
- At the top of the specific Architecture Diagram window, select ‘Prakya Mode’.
- Navigate to the Diagram itself, and hover over it. Select the ‘P’ icon that appears at the bottom right of the drawing in question.
- A window will appear on the right. Halfway down on the left, select ‘Epic’.
- Search the name of the Epic/Project that you’d like to connect to the drawing.
- Press ‘Select’ on the right, and then press ‘Assign’. Now the Epic is officially connected to the Architecture Diagram in question. Nicely done!
Connecting Features to Drawings:
Much like with Epics/Projects, Prakya also is able to connect specific Features to Architecture Diagrams as well. As your users drill down deeper into Epic/Project Architecture Diagrams, they will be able to see all the Features (work items) that comprise the Epic/Project. It is crucial that Feature-specific Diagrams are also connected to their corresponding Features within an Epic.
- To connect a specific Architecture Diagram to a Feature, please first go to the Architecture Diagram in question.
- At the top of the specific Architecture Diagram window, select ‘Prakya Mode’.
- Navigate to the Diagram itself, and drill down to the Feature in question. Select the ‘P’ icon that appears at the bottom right of the drawing in question.
- A window will appear on the right. Halfway down on the left, select ‘Feature’.
- Search the name of the Feature that you’d like to connect to the drawing.
- Press ‘Select’ on the right, and then press ‘Assign’. Now the Epic is officially connected to the Architecture Drawing in question. Great job!
Organization-wide Visibility:
‘Prakya’ is a Sanskrit word that means ‘visibility’. Providing visibility of work across teams, departments, product/business lines, projects and geographic locations is what we do best. This is best realized through visual representations of work being done.
- By selecting ‘Epics’ on the left of any screen, and then pressing ‘3ee6ty View’, every Prakya user is provided access to an organization-wide Diagram of the work their team(s) are doing.
- They can drill down into the Diagrams to find their specific area of work (Epic or Project). They can also get visibility into other areas of work that are outside of their scope (e.g. a backend developer getting a better understanding of how the frontend of their product interacts with the work they are doing in the backend).
- This is crucial to each employee’s understanding of ‘why’ they are doing the work they are doing, and ‘how’ it ties into the grander product/process vision.
